Could be a tricky selection with quite a few pushing for a place. Should the selectors continue with their youth policy and build, over the next few years, a strong team for the future. Or should they pick a team with more experienced players. In any event, Mid Antrim men will be a tough nut to crack.
Yes I can confirm that I will be taking a year out for personal reasons. I would like to thank Fred and John for putting up with me for all these years and it was an honour and a priviledge to play for Donegal. The team will go from strength to strength and with the young yins coming through Donegal are and will be for many years a zone to be scared off. Good luck and as James Bond said "never say never AGAIN" CTM, Possibly the best third in the County.
Heard a rumour that apart from there being obvious replacements for Colin and Pat there will be a few more new faces appearing on the team sheet for the Mid Antrim game anyone care to confirm or deny these rumours.
Would not argue too much with the team as it is a move forward. I would have brought more young players in and built for the future. After all, we have lost two finals in the last three years with the team we had. There are one or two players hanging in there who should know that unless they produce the goods against Mid Antrim they should be dropped/
The team are all there on merit stop the bitching am getting so sick of all the talking c**p on here. You don't know much bout bowls in the zone if u think some of these players are deserving of their place.
gallagher is a great young player, suprised alot of us when he played at the tri-zone against oriel and monaghan and deserved a shot at least against mid antrim.
I would like to say that the team is as strong, if not stronger than the last few years. As for Michael Gallagher, he is a nice young fellow and will be a great asset to the team. Good luck to both Donegal teams in their quest for glory. Will miss being part of it!! CTM best third in the county after James Marshall now. ha ha

Its now time the international team is selected through trials. Trials should be open to anyone who wants to give it a crack and hold it as an open singles event.Have different trials in different zones and the top 16 you come up with is your team. You would have a very different looking team which the bowling community cannot complain about the selectors and the finger pointing of favourtism is gone and players living on past glories simply wouldnt make the cut. This is the future way foward but are the top table to blind to see whats staring them in the face.

Congragulations to Fred and the mens Donegal zone team on their win today. It was a good competitive game and the best team on the day deservedly won. All the best in the next round lads....ivan
Good result and pretty good performance yesterday. Again, 1st half needs to lead the way as 2nd half dont look that convincing. Quinn and Steele need improvement on their rinks, Currans did ok. PJ's rink best on display, Peter good to see bouncing back, Derek old reliable as usual. Need a better performance if we are to beat Mid Ulster.
Forget all this dribble, it takes nerves of steel (no pun intended) to play the big bowls in the 2nd half and i for one would not anyone else than Quinn, Curran and Steele playing in the 2nd run. Say what you like, but its a totally different ball game in the business end. PJ could maybe threaten one of these guys in a few years time, but for now its just right.
Firstly were you at the game yesterday? Your comments about the rinks in the 2nd half makes me think not. You say "Currans rink did ok" Remind me again whose rink was the only rink to win in the 2nd half AH YES thats right it was CURRANS
I played against johns rink in the 2nd half and he played some big bowls, and to finish with a draw was the result of the way the guy can play under pressure. Peter played some great bowls under pressure in the 1st half. His last bowl in 3 of the 1st 4 ends were class as he could of been 10 shots down after 4 ends and limited the opposition to scorin 3 shots the whole game...very impressive play by the lad.
"Quinn and Steele need improvement on their rinks" In the case of Johns i think your wrong anon 12:31. joe was getting the touchers and getting behind the jack, jonathan did what was needed and had a fairly solid game, daniel started shaky but finished strong and john played some big bowls to save big counts and after all they did get a draw out of the game like.
John may have played some big bowls but I think he should rethink his use of Daniel. Daniel misses more of his running shots than he gets. Christopher will also have to learn that short bowls are no good in rinks.
Donegal men not blowing much this year.. They are very quiet on it, ve they learnt there lesson from last year.. It will make no difference because Mid Ulster will end there dream this year.. Its all set up 4 a Mid Ulster and North West final... MTG
Totally agree with MTG and his comments on Dec 5 th at 10.34am.. Its going til be a North West and Mid Ulster final.. Im really looking forward til that final, it should be a cracker..
I beleave we will reverse last years result and not only beat NW, but destroy them and send them home with tails between their legs. LETS GO ORIEL!!!!!
hold on a minute the team went out done the business what more do you want they all playing well and only some shit stirers out there trying to mess up the team always looking at the negative side of things how about looking at the positive side donegal were the underdogs again and they came out with a convincing win! so lets get behind them and cheer them on rather than dividing the team and starting arguments! come on Donegal!!!!
everybody thinks they could pick a better team but at the end of the day the team won and will continue to do so. Also steeles rink doesnt need changed yet, that was their first game together so give them a chance, plus andy always does the buisness when he needs too.
Argue all you want, we will come down to the sticks and slaughter the little lambs, our team has been revamped and is far more powerful this year. Mid ~Ulster by at least 15
Donegal did not show great form against Mid Antrim and, although they won, many members of the team have not shown top form this season. A lot of Mid Ulster team appear to be playing well and will, without doubt, provide much tougher opposition. Hopefully, on the day, Donegal will get the rub of the green and make the semis again.
Donegal have much the same team as last year with the exception of Gallagher,Beattie and Bustard in Mabon ,Martin and Walsh out. Get behind the boys and they'll show MU that last year was not a flash in the pan.
I have told Dodgy to delete the destuctive comments that have appeared over the last two days. I would also like to inform Big Mac (or should it be Big Mouth) that to apply to be separate zone, you would need to have a minimum of 25 clubs. I would further inform the players, who are pushing for a Donegal Cup, that I wrote to all the club secretaries in the Zone in May to ascertain if any clubs were interested in such an event. Not one club responded to date. I would also point out that, as far as the Zone is concerned, we would not have had the success we have had over the last few years if the players in the West had not been part of the team.
There has a lot of chat about a Donegal Cup/Shield. Unfortunately my club would not have the numbers to enter as I would think a club would have to have a minimum of fourteen players to ensure that games would be played on agreed dates. Nevertheless, as a final throw of the dice to accommodate clubs that are not in leagues, I would suggest the following for consideration.. 1; Any club interested should contact Fred before 15th January, 2012 2; The format should be three rinks. 3; Aggregate score to prevail. 4; Games should be played on three mats. ( There might be considerable travelling and this, together with two run of the mats, would result in a long night for one game of bowls. The home team can opt for another venue.) 5; A date and time for an arranged match can not be changed. 6; As the Cup would have nothing to do with the league, a player who is a member of two clubs has the option to choose which club to play for.
Anon 2.20 16 DEC The game would be played in the format of two rinks and four pairs a tried and tested format. This would give the clubs with minimal members a chance to form a team. Your sugestion that a player would play for whatever team they choose would not be correct if a player choses to play in a league then he would HAVE to play for that team in any other competition IE club championship. The reason being that this would hopefully qualify a team for the club championship. And if the player's chosen club did not win but the team that he play's for in a league he would not be eligable to play for that club in the championship.
They should be allowed to choose but they cannot represent the other club in the club championships if they qualify. All clubs interested put your name forward and lets get this off the ground.
3.20. This competition would have absolutely nothing to do with the league and would completely divorced from it. As far as I am aware, the Club Championship is played with three rinks and this event should mirror the Club Championship. "The game would be played in the format of two rinks and four pairs a tried and tested format" This is a format for the Mid Donegal League and is not the format for the majority of leagues in the Association and does not have to be adhered to. Again, as this is a completely new and separate competition, no restrictions should be placed on any player Methinks you are too focused on the Mid Donegal League which is not the be all and end all of bowls in Donegal
Also you cannot punish someone for wanting to play league bowls. The rules state that you must have either played 75% of league games or whatever club you play your nationals out of you are eligable for the club championship. That is why you see so many different players playing for different clubs in the club championship. Also many zones run cups in different formats to their league
5.57 Not to correct you but explain the points the format of two rinks and four pairs allows teams with only 9 or less to compete. And allows teams with only a few strong players a fairer chance. This cup will have every thing to do with the two other leagues in the county because they will have to make arrangements to play on nights that the league might otherwise be played .AND finaly if you choose to play for a club in the mid league why would you turn your back on them in another compatition
The competition would have nothing to do with the mid league because the teams have already committed themselves to that league. And to reply to your statement the mid league is NOT the be all and end all of donegal bowls but it would be a big part in this comp if the teams do not play in this new comp would you not say because without the majority the whole thing would be a farce. Unfortunately there is a couple of players that want the best of both worlds and this will obstruct the organization of the comp.
7.18 You fail only because you want only to understand your own point and you have a vested interest in playing for a different team or you would not have mentioned it so prominitly in your point.
7.08 In your opinion teams with only nine players should not apply to play in this competition. I come from a team of 10 players and you are telling us that we should not put forward our requst to play in this new comp if it happens. Is there any more stipulations that you can think of that will ailenate the lesser clubs. {YOU's FAITHFULLY 10 PLAYER TEAM}
To poster 7.32pm 16 DEC why would you be worried if a team of less than 9 or 10 wins . Or do you not want the lesser clubs to enter in case they might win if it did happen it would be none of you'r business what they do unless you can think of a reason why they would not be eligeble to enter
14 players minimum is a must no point in a team with not enough players to compete in the club championships winning it and it would help teams when they get to the club championships.
From 2.20; I put the suggestion forward to possibly accommodate clubs not in the Mid Donegal League as well as the Mid Donegal clubs. The possible prize at the end was the opportunity to compete in the Club Championships. If I had known it would create such furore, I would not have bothered.
For 8.20 Another "suggestion" that you made that the games be played on three mat's not all halls can accomidate three mat's so we would have to play in a hall that has room for three mats which would be an extra expence for the said club. I think that the IDEA of a donegal cup is a "GREAT" idea but it must be available to all clubs small and large alike. And a format that will acomidate both big and small clubs.
Post 8.20 I think you put the suggestion forward to accommodate your own club which does not play in a league therefore unable to represent the county in the club championship. This i commend you for but first you must try to calm down and try and get some momentum going on the subject this will not happen overnight nor will it happen this year but maybe if we persevere it will come to fruition in 2012/2013.P.S. Please perssevere
Now nobody take this the wrong way and I am not trying to discriminate against smaller clubs but the whole point of the donegal cup would be to qualify a club for the club championship. No other format other than that of three rinks all played at once will suffice.
Perhaps this would be an idea, have a donegal cup for all teams that can fulfill the criteria for going to the club championship and have a shield for clubs that cannot (perhaps two rinks or three triples or something like that).
Why is everybody putting forward suggestions trying to accomodate the smaller clubs with a possibility of going to club championship if they cannot attend. Two seperate competitions is the only viable solution.
As there are a few clubs with 2 league teams will there be an argument if there is a club team entered using players from both their teams. As the Club championship is 3 rinks (12 players) I presume this would have to be the case for any team that qualifies without having 12 players registered from the mid donegal league. Now I am just asking a question here so please no one go off on one if anything above is in anyway not relevant to this topic.
As the cup would have nothing to do with the league, the team could be chosen from all members of the club, whether they play in different teams in the league.
I think we can step back and see how many clubs want to enter. Two Zone games in the beginning of January to negotiate. Lets all concentrate on them first.
This crap is getting boring. The rules were stated at the meeting, 3 rinks, minimum of 12 palyers as it qualifies you to play in club championship. Sames rules as that, which means you have to play 75% of a teams league games or play your nationals out of this club. SIMPLE!!
Let Fred know if you want it as you were all told be before, we would play it but a waste of time anyway.
On a different subject what about trying to get a practice game against the ladies before the two Zone games think the ladies is on the 7th and the men are playing on the 14th any comments on this idea or is it a no brainer.
There is a strong possibility that Ballylennon will win the league and will qualify for the Club Championship. Would it be possible that the winner of the knock out cup play Burtonport, which seems to be the only other non league club interested in a place in the club championship. Thatis, if there was a second place available.
Ah will you's cop on. It would not be fair to all the other clubs for Burtonport to go straight to the final because they probably would not be good enough to mke it if they had to start from the start because there are a few better clubs than them.

Remind me again whose rink was the only rink to win in the 2nd half AH YES thats right it was CURRANS
ReplyDelete"Quinn and Steele need improvement on their rinks" In the case of Johns i think your wrong anon 12:31. joe was getting the touchers and getting behind the jack, jonathan did what was needed and had a fairly solid game, daniel started shaky but finished strong and john played some big bowls to save big counts and after all they did get a draw out of the game like.
ReplyDeleteJohn may have played some big bowls but I think he should rethink his use of Daniel. Daniel misses more of his running shots than he gets. Christopher will also have to learn that short bowls are no good in rinks.
ReplyDeleteWhy, are they good in triples, pairs, or singles? I'd like to know how you play!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDoes not reflect on the 20 bowls he played yesterday. Just makes some stupid comment
ReplyDeleteDonegal men not blowing much this year.. They are very quiet on it, ve they learnt there lesson from last year.. It will make no difference because Mid Ulster will end there dream this year.. Its all set up 4 a Mid Ulster and North West final... MTG
ReplyDeleteWe'll see MTG. Donegal will be confident of blowing Mid Ulster away just like last year.
ReplyDeleteStick er in the pan!!!
who is MTG?
ReplyDeletemindless thick gulpin lol
ReplyDeletestick er in the pan
North Eastern will sort u boyos out, just like their neighbours Northern did last year lol.
ReplyDeletesorry but did donegal not beat north eastern in the shield finals 2 years ago..... yeah check your facts before writing crap.
ReplyDeletehow did Glackin play as 2nd to Peter the last day in the zone
ReplyDeleteThats twice someone asked about Jamie as two. Are you looking for his place
ReplyDeleteI see northern lost the top team event across the water!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with MTG and his comments on Dec 5 th at 10.34am.. Its going til be a North West and Mid Ulster final.. Im really looking forward til that final, it should be a cracker..
ReplyDeleteIt is well known that two average teams can produce a great game
ReplyDeleteNorth West will do well to win their next game not alone reach the final
ReplyDeleteI beleave we will reverse last years result and not only beat NW, but destroy them and send them home with tails between their legs. LETS GO ORIEL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs there going to be any changes to the Donegal team for the next game
ReplyDeleteThere should be but would any of the possibles be any better
ReplyDeletewell who would you change?
ReplyDeleteSwap Nixon and Curran around, and Daniel and Johnny around.
ReplyDeleteSwap Nixon and Eddie? The most potent back end in zone bowls. What are you smoking
ReplyDeleteyea i would make a change to Andy Steeles rink.
ReplyDeleteNixon more settled, Curran too busy trying to showboat and play to crowd - will cost him sometime.
ReplyDeleteno that rink is ok.The only rink that would need something done to is steeles rink.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the selectors need some guidance as to what the best team selection is
ReplyDeletehold on a minute the team went out done the business what more do you want they all playing well and only some shit stirers out there trying to mess up the team always looking at the negative side of things how about looking at the positive side donegal were the underdogs again and they came out with a convincing win! so lets get behind them and cheer them on rather than dividing the team and starting arguments! come on Donegal!!!!
ReplyDeleteeverybody thinks they could pick a better team but at the end of the day the team won and will continue to do so. Also steeles rink doesnt need changed yet, that was their first game together so give them a chance, plus andy always does the buisness when he needs too.
ReplyDeleteArgue all you want, we will come down to the sticks and slaughter the little lambs, our team has been revamped and is far more powerful this year. Mid ~Ulster by at least 15
ReplyDeleteVe 2 agree Mid Ulster will blow Donegal apart, they will show were the true weaknesses are in the Donegal team.. Up the MU...
ReplyDeletekeep talking, keep talking are mid ulster going to do a donegal by talking themselves up!
ReplyDeleteDonegal did not show great form against Mid Antrim and, although they won, many members of the team have not shown top form this season. A lot of Mid Ulster team appear to be playing well and will, without doubt, provide much tougher opposition. Hopefully, on the day, Donegal will get the rub of the green and make the semis again.
ReplyDeleteDonegal have much the same team as last year with the exception of Gallagher,Beattie and Bustard in Mabon ,Martin and Walsh out. Get behind the boys and they'll show MU that last year was not a flash in the pan.
ReplyDeleteI have told Dodgy to delete the destuctive comments that have appeared over the last two days.
ReplyDeletewell said fred.hope the clubs get back to you.
ReplyDeleteNo one wants it so I think the responses will be limited.
ReplyDeleteIs it realy true fred that none of the clubs in donegal have not replied to you not even the secertary of Burtonport PJ Gallagher.
ReplyDeleteanon 4.15 -why would no one want it?
ReplyDeleteDonegal cup is a great idea. admittedly it would take a lot of organising. ballylennon would win it anyway
Burtonport are interested i think fred knows that already. Come on get on to fred if your club is interested!!
ReplyDeleteNot one club has responded since May so I think its clear nobody wants it like!!!!
ReplyDeleteNO-ONE INTERESTED!!!
ReplyDeletePJ has to play for Ramelton in it anyway this year so maybe thats why there has been no official response from Burtonport.
The fear of Burtonport is in you all.....
ReplyDeleteThere has a lot of chat about a Donegal Cup/Shield. Unfortunately my club would not have the numbers to enter as I would think a club would have to have a minimum of fourteen players to ensure that games would be played on agreed dates. Nevertheless, as a final throw of the dice to accommodate clubs that are not in leagues, I would suggest the following for consideration..
ReplyDelete1; Any club interested should contact Fred before 15th January, 2012
2; The format should be three rinks.
3; Aggregate score to prevail.
4; Games should be played on three mats. ( There might be considerable travelling and this, together with two run of the mats, would result in a long night for one game of bowls. The home team can opt for another venue.)
5; A date and time for an arranged match can not be changed.
ReplyDeletenice to see someone talking a bit of sense on here!
ReplyDeleteThey should be allowed to choose but they cannot represent the other club in the club championships if they qualify. All clubs interested put your name forward and lets get this off the ground.
ReplyDelete3.20. This competition would have absolutely nothing to do with the league and would completely divorced from it. As far as I am aware, the Club Championship is played with three rinks and this event should mirror the Club Championship.
ReplyDelete"The game would be played in the format of two rinks and four pairs a tried and tested format"
This is a format for the Mid Donegal League and is not the format for the majority of leagues in the Association and does not have to be adhered to.
Again, as this is a completely new and separate competition, no restrictions should be placed on any player
Methinks you are too focused on the Mid Donegal League which is not the be all and end all of bowls in Donegal
Also you cannot punish someone for wanting to play league bowls. The rules state that you must have either played 75% of league games or whatever club you play your nationals out of you are eligable for the club championship. That is why you see so many different players playing for different clubs in the club championship.
ReplyDeleteAlso many zones run cups in different formats to their league
5.57 Not to correct you but explain the points the format of two rinks and four pairs allows teams with only 9 or less to compete. And allows teams with only a few strong players a fairer chance. This cup will have every thing to do with the two other leagues in the county because they will have to make arrangements to play on nights that the league might otherwise be played .AND finaly if you choose to play for a club in the mid league why would you turn your back on them in another compatition
ReplyDelete7.08. You are not correcting me cause I fail to understand your point
ReplyDeleteThe competition would have nothing to do with the mid league because the teams have already committed themselves to that league.
ReplyDelete7.18 You fail only because you want only to understand your own point and you have a vested interest in playing for a different team or you would not have mentioned it so prominitly in your point.
ReplyDelete7.08. If a team of 9 or less are fortunate to win where do the additional players that are required for the Club Championship come from
ReplyDelete7.08 In your opinion teams with only nine players should not apply to play in this competition. I come from a team of 10 players and you are telling us that we should not put forward our requst to play in this new comp if it happens. Is there any more stipulations that you can think of that will ailenate the lesser clubs. {YOU's FAITHFULLY 10 PLAYER TEAM}
ReplyDeleteTo poster 7.32pm 16 DEC why would you be worried if a team of less than 9 or 10 wins . Or do you not want the lesser clubs to enter in case they might win if it did happen it would be none of you'r business what they do unless you can think of a reason why they would not be eligeble to enter
ReplyDelete14 players minimum is a must no point in a team with not enough players to compete in the club championships winning it and it would help teams when they get to the club championships.
ReplyDeleteFrom 2.20; I put the suggestion forward to possibly accommodate clubs not in the Mid Donegal League as well as the Mid Donegal clubs. The possible prize at the end was the opportunity to compete in the Club Championships. If I had known it would create such furore, I would not have bothered.
ReplyDeleteFor 8.20 Another "suggestion" that you made that the games be played on three mat's not all halls can accomidate three mat's so we would have to play in a hall that has room for three mats which would be an extra expence for the said club. I think that the IDEA of a donegal cup is a "GREAT" idea but it must be available to all clubs small and large alike. And a format that will acomidate both big and small clubs.
ReplyDeletePost 8.20 I think you put the suggestion forward to accommodate your own club which does not play in a league therefore unable to represent the county in the club championship. This i commend you for but first you must try to calm down and try and get some momentum going on the subject this will not happen overnight nor will it happen this year but maybe if we persevere it will come to fruition in 2012/2013.P.S. Please perssevere
ReplyDeleteagree, it won't happen this season but hopefully should be in place for next season 2012/13.
ReplyDeleteman from the west
Now nobody take this the wrong way and I am not trying to discriminate against smaller clubs but the whole point of the donegal cup would be to qualify a club for the club championship. No other format other than that of three rinks all played at once will suffice.
ReplyDeletePerhaps this would be an idea, have a donegal cup for all teams that can fulfill the criteria for going to the club championship and have a shield for clubs that cannot (perhaps two rinks or three triples or something like that).
Why is everybody putting forward suggestions trying to accomodate the smaller clubs with a possibility of going to club championship if they cannot attend. Two seperate competitions is the only viable solution.
12,02. Your first paragraph is, as I understood, the reason for the donegal cup. No one is discriminating against the smaller clubs.
ReplyDeleteyou need 3 rinks for it simple as! if you cant get 3 rinks out for it then dont enter it. there it is plain and simple.
ReplyDeleteWell there is no point in all this talk unless all clubs interested show their interest to fred. Come on clubs get this off the ground!!
ReplyDeleteAs there are a few clubs with 2 league teams will there be an argument if there is a club team entered using players from both their teams. As the Club championship is 3 rinks (12 players) I presume this would have to be the case for any team that qualifies without having 12 players registered from the mid donegal league. Now I am just asking a question here so please no one go off on one if anything above is in anyway not relevant to this topic.
ReplyDeleteAs the cup would have nothing to do with the league, the team could be chosen from all members of the club, whether they play in different teams in the league.
ReplyDeletePJ MC CROSSAN WINS ST JOSEPH,S SINGLES BEATING DAMIEN MC ELROY IN FINAL
ReplyDeleteWill each club only be allowed to enter one team as we in Burtonport have enough to enter two good teams.
ReplyDeleteBurtonport will be lucky to have one good team.
ReplyDeleteWe have six new players coming from Mahery to play for us so we will have enough for two teams
ReplyDeleteWind up merchant
ReplyDeleteOn a serious will we be able to enter two teams from our club
ReplyDeleteOnly one good player in maghery sure. the ginga ninja jamie glackin!
ReplyDeleteI think we can step back and see how many clubs want to enter. Two Zone games in the beginning of January to negotiate. Lets all concentrate on them first.
ReplyDeleteAny changes going to be made to the team?
ReplyDeleteCorrection the Ginga Ninja plays for Burtonport and will be playing for Burtonport in this new cup if it ever happens.
ReplyDeleteThis crap is getting boring. The rules were stated at the meeting, 3 rinks, minimum of 12 palyers as it qualifies you to play in club championship. Sames rules as that, which means you have to play 75% of a teams league games or play your nationals out of this club. SIMPLE!!
ReplyDeleteLet Fred know if you want it as you were all told be before, we would play it but a waste of time anyway.
Mighty
Well said MIGHTY a waste of time
ReplyDeleteOn a different subject what about trying to get a practice game against the ladies before the two Zone games think the ladies is on the 7th and the men are playing on the 14th any comments on this idea or is it a no brainer.
ReplyDeleteMight be a bit onesided joe but it would be a bit of craic.
ReplyDeleteNothing to hinder you arranging it, Joe. Thursday, 5th in Cathedral could be free
ReplyDeleteMATCH WOULD NOT BE TOO ONE-SIDED THE LADIES WONT BEAT THE MEN BY THAT MANY
ReplyDeleteNo my club is Maghery Bowling club and it will always stay that way.
ReplyDeleteLol
ReplyDeleteWould like some help to arrange it need some response from players as i need to know if they are available to play on that date
ReplyDeleteThere is a strong possibility that Ballylennon will win the league and will qualify for the Club Championship. Would it be possible that the winner of the knock out cup play Burtonport, which seems to be the only other non league club interested in a place in the club championship. Thatis, if there was a second place available.
ReplyDeleteWhat happens if Ballylennon wins the Knockout cup as well
ReplyDeleteWrong, you mean what happens WHEN Ballylennon win the knock out cup AGAIN.
ReplyDelete'this crap is boring' 'waste of time'
ReplyDeleteso you'll not be playing in it?
wonder who the boss is there neighbours!
ReplyDeleteIf Ballylennon win both, Burtonport atomatically qualify
ReplyDeleteMighty is best player ever to come out of donegal and his opinion is not to be argued with or contradicted - if he says it - thats final.
ReplyDeleteThe zone survived when Mighty was at college.

Ah will you's cop on. It would not be fair to all the other clubs for Burtonport to go straight to the final because they probably would not be good enough to mke it if they had to start from the start because there are a few better clubs than them.
ReplyDeleteAll this talk about the club championship it may not happen this year due to the closure of Ballymoney Stadium.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't the shortmat and stadium associations donate some money to try keep it open? It is a great facility and it would be sad to see it go.

ReplyDeleteAnonymous dec 21 8.30am get your own life
ReplyDeleteSo has any club signaled their interest in the donegal cup or shield or whatever it going to be? I would bet no one has.
ReplyDeleteTo whom it may consern the idea of a donegal cup is dead in the water.
