Boohoo! Someone must have got beat in the first round. If your good enough you'll qualify no matter how the draw is. Dry your eyes mate and show what your made of on the mat instead of spouting on about draws on here.
there was nobody running this tournament last year as it was not on.Last years was run for the outdoor bowling club this is for his indoor bowling club. But the same person is running it and after the mess he made of it last year i for one will be very surprised if anyone would want to enter it i for one will not as this person is faceless and did not have the balls to run the tournament honestly last year. And if you dont believe this just ask any of the big players that were there last year
Poster 1132AM totally agree with your comments we will not be entering this year for that very same reason the person that organized the draw did the tournament more harm than good i am sure he will get enough support to run the tournament but he will find that the entry from some clubs will not be there this year.
There was a comment on last years blog that this was a well run tournament. Why the moaning now. Did some of the "big" players have to meet "big" players in early rounds. So sad. How come that one of the biggest players in the Association won the event ie Colm McHugh. Catch yourselves on lads
it was well run 2 years ago marshall and the jacobs helped that year and it proved successfull but last year one person ran it and it was a disgrace i will be amazed if he runs it well after the farse of last year
In Reply to the "Faceless" anonymous poster Dec 23 11.32 am, firstly this will be the 3rd year that the winner of this tournament will play in the Champion of Champions as a result of being the winner of the Conwal BC licenced tournament. Yes the proceeds were given to the Outdoor Bowling Club for the last 2 years, over €2500 in fact. This year, it is not as you stated being "run for his Indoor club" but all proceeds will be donated to the Donegal Branch of the Irish Kidney Association. The only face to face feedback I have received about the tournaments to date have been positive, through 3rd parties I heard the draw on the Friday night of last year's tournament was criticised, but the fact is that Friday night due to the weather, 39 players were on the draw sheet, 24 turned up to play, 10 of the 15 gave no notice. To anon Dec 23 6.03 pm, Draw made by me both years, Same Hall, Same Mats, Same Success. "One Person" can't run a tournament those who have put time, money and effort into it in previous years will again go about their business quietly to make this year's tournament a success again. The only thing that will prevent this tournament from running will be the weather. If you have any further issues do it in person rather than through 'faceless' posts. Finally may I take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Frankly, it would be my personal wish, for the New Year, that players would stop bitching at and about fellow players and not let jealousy of other players ability mar their enjoyment of the sport.
well said 11.06pm enjoy the game lads and never underestimate the predictability of stupidity, and lets face it there is plenty on here.mervyn just do what you have to do but give me a good draw lad nobody will know lol
L Hamilton - Glendermott Pres M White - Conwal A Duffy - Strabane CC
The above completes the lineup for the finals night on Friday 13th January. Open draw at 8pm, All welcome. (Finals night changed from the 7th as stated on the forms due to ladies zone game away and the hall becoming available for the 13th).
Finally many thanks to everyone who helped me out during the week in any way and thanks also to the 223 players who supported the tournament, our largest entry to date.
Did you beat McHugh or McElroy Mervyn? or let me guess, they were in the other sections??? No shame! Well done on a good tournament for a good cause though.
