Mark Beattie, Strabane Cricket Club, won the Scott Shield, beating Stuart McSorley, Adrstraw, in the final game. It would appear that his recent marriage has not dimmed his bowling prowess. Semi-finalists were Ivan McClintock, St Johnston BC, and Valerie Witherow, Strabane Cricket Club. Other players in contention for the Shield in the finals were Mervyn White, Conwal, Andrew Steele, Greenbank, Alan Brown, Wellington, Stanley Brown, Ardstraw, Ciaran Green, Greenbank, Harry Wilson, Ardstraw, Ashley Sproule, Castlederg Methodist, and Lorraine Mavitty, Tempo. The big winners were the Bumbleance Children’s National Ambulance Service who help critically and seriously ill children in Ireland to travel to appointments in a comfortable environment and who received €1300.00.
